It’s been an odd week for HTC Desire owners. HTC announced that the Desire wouldn’t see the Gingerbread update due to limitations with the Desire’s memory – we’ve all seen it let’s be honest. However, yesterday HTC posted on their Facebook page that they would indeed release Gingerbread with Sense for the Desire after all.
HTC will remove some of a crap that usually ships with their software and Desire owners can rejoice in the knowledge that soon, Gingerbread with HTC Sense will be coming over-the-air in the end.

And probably by the time they make a network-friendly version of the Gingerbread upgrade available, many of us will already be looking at the next upgrade. Hopefully a HTC phone with Ice Cream Sandwich…
